Draft Update

  • The Washington Redskins traded the St. Louis Rams 3 first round picks to move up to 2nd in the upcoming draft. Likely to select Robert Griffin III.
My cant miss prospects for the 2012 draft

  1. Andrew Luck- He is the guaranteed #1 pick and a cant miss. Can make all the throws and has great arm strength.  Luck also is very football smart and has the ability to tuck it and run.
  2. Melvin Ingram-  Game in and game out he caused havoc in the SEC at SC.  Has great speed, strength, and hands for his size and i see him as an OLB at the next level.  Could be a steal for the Rams if he is still on the board at pick 6.
  3. Mark Barron- Dont count on this guy being a star in the NFL, but you can expect a long consistent career in the league.  Much like Champ Bailey who also played in the SEC.
  4. Justin Blackmon- Has all the intangeables for a great receiver...size, speed, and strength.
  5. Alshon Jeffrey-  Very underrated players who underwent poor quarterback play while at the University of South Carolina.  With an average QB this guy is an easy 1,000 yard reciever.  Also great when in the red zone.
Overrated players in my opinion
  1. Robert Griffin III-  I dont see his skills translating to the league and will be a huge risk for any team.
  2. Trent Richardson-  He is a tough back but he failed to impress me at times. Almsot non-existant in the National Championship game.
  3. Janoris Jenkins- Despite being one of the most talented in the draft his behavior is too much of a risk.
  4. Brock Osweiler-  I see him as being too big for the league and lacks mobility.  Cant always make the throws.

Manning released

Peyton Manning is expected to be released by the Colts by Wednesday.  This almost guarantees that the Colts will select Andrew Luck with the first pick of April's draft.

update

Not much is going on right now in the world of college football except the upcoming NFL Draft.  Andrew Luck is still expected to be the #1 overall pick by the Colts, most depending on the decision of veteran Peyton Manning to return or retire.
